AirWallet The air-gapped wallet Download

AirWallet. Colder than Ledger.

Your keys live on a spare phone or laptop that never goes online againHow does it work?Your everyday computer or phone prepares the payment and shows it as a QR code. The offline device scans it, signs, and answers with a code of its own. Click to see it step by step.. It signs through its camera, reading one QR code and answering with another, so there's no cable, no Bluetooth and no way in from the internet.

Every download comes in two copies: one to go online, one to keep offline.

How it works

Two copies of one app. A camera between them.

The offline copy never opens a connection; on Android it doesn't even ask for the internet permission. The online copy doesn't need your keys at all — it watches, prepares and sends. The only thing that ever crosses the gap is a QR code.

  1. Online · to signairb1:cHNidP8BAH0C…Long codes animate

    01Prepare online

The online copy watches your balances and builds the transaction, then shows it as a QR code.

  2. Offline · review
    Send0.25 BTC
    Tobc1p5d7rjq7g…kq3x
    Fee0.0000184 BTC

    02Check and sign offline

The offline copy scans it and shows who gets paid, how much, and the fee, all read from the very bytes it's about to sign. No blind signing, ever: what it can't show completely, it refuses.

  3. Online · scan signed code0200000000010…Then it goes out

    03Scan it back and send

Point the online copy at the offline screen and it's on its way. The codes going the other direction carry your latest balances, so the offline device always knows what it holds.

Born offline

Your keys are made offline. And they never leave.

A lot of people worry about the same thing: one bad update, one network glitch, one exploit, and the money's gone. Here, the keys simply aren't anywhere the internet can reach.

So why not just use a hardware wallet?

A hardware wallet keeps your keys on a small device, then plugs it into an online computer to sign. AirWallet's signer never plugs into anything.

The intended setup

Online · every dayYour computer, laptop or phone

Runs the online copy: it watches your balances, prepares payments and sends them out. It never holds your keys, so there's nothing on it to steal.

Offline · for goodA spare phone or laptop

Holds your keys. Copy the app over once by Bluetooth or SD card, switch every radio off, and never plug anything in again.

Just want a hot wallet? The online copy works on its own too, keys and all. Add an offline device whenever you're ready.

Vanity addresses

Your word in your address. Mined on your own GPU.

Type a word and your graphics chip starts racing through millions of keys a second, hunting for an address that carries it. Every key is made on your own machine, as a standard keypair, and each find drops into your wallet already encrypted.

Grinding for a friend? A split-key request finds their address without you ever seeing their key.
